Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation of rosewood. It is colorless to pale yellow and has a medium-strength, wonderfully warm, and sweet woody scent that is simultaneously floral and fruity. It stimulates the immune system and helps regenerate tissues by promoting cell growth. It mildly regulates mood and acts as an aphrodisiac.

Oils with which it can be blended: Himalayan cedarwood, frankincense (boswellia), geranium, rosemary, mandarin, and ylang ylang.

Fun Facts: Rosewood is an evergreen tree that grows up to 30 meters tall and thrives best in South America, particularly in the Brazilian rainforest. It features reddish-brown bark and hard wood that is used to make stylish furniture, instruments, chess pieces, Japanese chopsticks, ornaments, and more. Products made from its wood retain their characteristic sweet scent for many years. It is protected in Brazil, meaning producers must plant a new tree for every one cut down, thereby maintaining the natural balance.
