Intended Use: For room scenting using a vaporizer.

Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation of fir needles and is yellow-brown in color. It has a very fresh, woody, earthy, and slightly sweet scent. It can help with bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia, and other lung conditions by calming coughs, stimulating endocrine glands, and improving circulation. It can also be used as an aid for arthritis, for massage in cases of muscle pain, rheumatism, and sinus inflammation. It excellently refreshes the air in hospital rooms when used in a vaporizer.

Oils with which it can be blended: Chamomile, frankincense, lavender, lemon, and myrtle.

Fun Facts: It is a tall, long-lived conifer. In the distant past, it was called the healer of forests and was used for muscle aches and to improve breathing issues. The fir is also indispensable during the holiday season when brought into the house and decorated; Shakespeare wrote enthusiastically about it, and there is also a famous fairy tale about a fir tree written by Hans Christian Andersen. Even our grandmothers used to prepare syrup in the spring from fir (or spruce) shoots, mixing them with sugar to extract the medicinal oil that helps with coughs.
