Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation of dried flower buds ("cloves") of the clove tree. It has a golden-yellow to brown color and an intensely warm, sweet-bitter, woody scent. It strongly resembles cloves, only with a stronger aroma. Traditionally, it has been used for toothaches, respiratory organs, arthritis, damaged muscles, or sprains.

Oils with which it can be blended: Allspice, bay laurel, bergamot, chamomile, clary sage, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, jasmine, lavender, lemon, mandarin, palmarosa, rose, sandalwood, vanilla, and ylang ylang.

Fun Facts: The clove tree is an evergreen tree native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia. It can grow up to 14 meters tall, with glossy green and highly fragrant leaves. The purple buds are harvested before they open and dried until they turn brown. In the 16th and 17th centuries, along with nutmeg, cloves were considered the most valuable spice in the world. Centuries ago, they were used in China to freshen breath, and in the Middle Ages, they were brought to Europe and used for food preservation and scenting.
