Purpose of use: Suitable as an air freshener in combination with a diffuser.
Description and usage: The essential oil is extracted using the steam distilling method. It has a clear to pale yellow colour and has a fantastic warm and woody scent, while at the same time being both floral and fruity. Rosewood is credited with being a cellular stimulant, immune system stimulant, tissue regenerator, tonic, antidepressant, and acts as an aphrodisiac. It is also regarded as a stabilizer of emotions.
Blends well with: cedarwood, frankincense, geranium, rosemary, mandarin, ylang ylang.
Interesting facts: Rosewood is a small evergreen tree now regarded as an endangered species by the Government of Brazil. It has been introduced to aromatherapy only recently. Rosewood oil is rich in linalool, a chemical which can be transformed into a number of derivatives of value and is a valuable asset to the fragrance industries.
