Intended Use: For room scenting using a vaporizer.

Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation of nutmeg seeds. It is colorless to mildly yellow and has a very rich, warm, woody, sweet-spicy scent. Externally, it helps with rheumatic pain and is also used as a first-aid remedy for toothaches. It is beneficial during fainting, stress, and extreme fatigue. It is very invigorating and stimulating, activates the mind, and is said by some to induce very vivid dreams. To facilitate labor, it is used diluted in almond oil (5 drops per 25 ml of oil) with the addition of 5 drops of sage oil; this mixture is used to massage the abdomen daily for 3 weeks prior to the due date. It also relieves minor sports injuries such as sprains, muscle strains, and muscle fatigue.

Oils with which it can be blended: Black pepper, cypress, geranium, clary sage, rosemary, and orange.

Fun Facts: Nutmeg is not actually a nut, but rather the seed kernel inside a fruit resembling an apricot or peach. It is also one of the natural flavorings in Coca-Cola. It comes from an evergreen tree that grows up to 20 meters tall, featuring dense leaves and small pale yellow flowers. It originates from the Molucca Islands (Indonesia) and also thrives in Penang, Java, and Sri Lanka. Indians used it for digestive issues, Egyptians for embalming, and Italians during the time of the plague.
