Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation of the plant's leaves. It has a light yellow color and an intensive, fresh lemon and herbal scent. It is known for its invigorating properties. It can be used in facial tonics because it acts as an astringent and thus helps combat acne and oily skin. It is an excellent aid against depression, strengthens the nervous system, and can be added to baths to relieve muscle pain. It is also known for its scent being disliked by insects.

Oils with which it can be blended: Bergamot, lime, angelica, orange, mandarin, neroli, grapefruit, geranium, melissa, frankincense, basil, palmarosa, clove, ginger, eucalyptus, cardamom, coriander, patchouli, rosemary, myrrh, lavender, vetiver, clary sage, lemon, and jasmine.

Fun Facts: Lemongrass is a fast-growing, multi-year grass that grows up to 1.5 meters high and emits an aromatic scent. It is native to Asia and is cultivated in most warm places, including Africa. Traditional Indian medicine used lemongrass to treat fever and infectious diseases.
