Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation of juniper berries. It is pale yellow in color and has a very fresh, rich, balsamic, woody-sweet scent reminiscent of conifer and evergreen oils. Juniper stimulates, helps regenerate, and tightens the skin. It is very popular in blends for weight loss or detoxification because it acts as a diuretic and cleanser.

Oils with which it can be blended: Clary sage, sandalwood, bergamot, geranium, marjoram, rosemary, chamomile, and eucalyptus.

Fun Facts: Juniper is a small shrubby tree that grows from 1 to 10 meters in height and thrives high up, at 2,500 to 4,700 meters above sea level in the Himalayan mountain range. The berries are harvested once a year, dried, and ground before distillation. It also thrives well in Europe. In traditional Indian medicine, it was used externally to alleviate rheumatic pain, combat hair loss, help stop bleeding, and care for superficial wounds.
