Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation from the needles and twigs of the cypress tree and is colorless or pale yellow. It has a very fresh, herbal, and evergreen scent. It refreshes rooms and lifts the mood. It is used as an aid for circulation, digestion, and the respiratory system, and is also useful for oily and problematic skin. It has been used to help with coughs and bronchitis, varicose veins, menstrual issues, rheumatism, etc. It acts against muscle or menstrual cramps, eliminates unpleasant odors, tightens expanded veins, and calms the airways.

Oils with which it can be blended: bergamot, clary sage, fennel, pink grapefruit, juniper, all types of lavender, lemon, lime, orange, pine, rosemary, and mandarin.

Fun Facts: The cypress is a very tall and slender tree from the conifer family, growing up to 30 meters high. It originates from eastern lands and is now very commonly found in the Mediterranean. It is an evergreen tree with tiny, dark green needles. Its wood is very durable, and Phoenicians and Cretans used it to build houses, Greeks carved statues from it, and Egyptians used it for sarcophagi. The Latin name Sempervirens comes from the equivalent Greek word meaning eternal life.
