Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation from the bark of the cinnamon tree and ranges in color from golden yellow to reddish brown. It has a warm, aromatic scent that is very popular during the holiday season. It evokes warmth and brings good cheer. Because of its pleasant scent, it is used in skincare products. It is known for its use as a remedy for stomach issues or gas, diarrhea, rheumatism, and abdominal pain in general.

Oils with which it can be blended: frankincense, lavender, cedar, elemi, citrus oils, ylang ylang, and other floral scents.

Fun Facts: Cinnamon is an evergreen tree native to China and Vietnam, though it has recently been cultivated in many other places around the world. It has shiny green leaves and small white flowers with oval purple berries. As early as 2000 BC in China, it was used in medicine for various abdominal problems, and the Egyptians used it to massage legs and help with excessive bile secretion. It was added to mulled wine and love potions and used as a sedative during childbirth.
