Manufacturer: Biopark Cosmetics
Origin: India
Intended Use: For room scenting using a vaporizer.
Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation of bay laurel leaves. It is pale green to orange-brown in color and has a deep, sweet-spicy, fresh scent that somewhat resembles cloves. It is very popular in the creation of men's perfumes and cosmetics, especially because it can help with the care of irritated skin after shaving and skin impurities. It can also be added to massage oils or baths for a relaxing effect. It is additionally added to shampoos and other hair care products intended to combat hair loss. Due to its astringent effect, it is also welcome in cosmetic products for skin toning.
Oils with which it can be blended: Eucalyptus, lavender, geranium, rosemary, thyme, cedarwood, coriander, ginger, juniper berries, lemon, orange, rose, and ylang ylang.
Fun Facts: The bay laurel is an evergreen tree that can grow up to 20 meters high with dark green, shiny leaves and black berries. Bay laurel essential oil was very popular among the Romans, who considered the laurel a symbol of wisdom, peace, and protection. The Latin name derives from the word "Laudis," meaning to praise, which is why winners at the Olympic Games were given a wreath of laurel leaves around their necks. Julius Caesar also wore a crown made of laurel leaves. Historically, bay laurel essential oil was often used as an aid for rheumatism, sore muscles, colds, flu, toothaches, and skin inflammation. Sometimes laurel leaves were steeped in rum—hence the English name "Bay Rum"—which was used as a scalp or body tonic.
Warnings: Read the label carefully before use and follow the instructions for use! For external use only, not for ingestion. Do not apply undiluted to the skin. Use during pregnancy is not recommended.
