Intended Use: For room scenting using a vaporizer.

Description and Uses: Obtained through steam distillation of balsam resin. It has a sweet, gentle scent reminiscent of cinnamon and vanilla. It helps with skin or mucous membrane inflammations, is useful for scalp care against dandruff, intimate care, and as a natural fragrance for cosmetic products.

Oils with which it can be blended: ylang-ylang, patchouli, petitgrain, sandalwood, rose, herbal oils, and floral scents.

Fun Facts: The balsam tree is native to South America. It got the name Tolu from an ancient city along the Caribbean Sea. It grows up to 35 meters tall and produces white flowers and pods of winged seeds. Balsam resin is obtained by making several incisions in the bark and waiting for it to exude. For this, the tree must be at least 20 years old, and only 3 kg of resin is obtained from a single tree per year. Because of its sweet taste, it is often used in the production of cough syrups, beverages, candies, and chewing gums. In South America, it was traditionally used for colds and pulmonary diseases, headaches, rheumatism, ulcers, wounds, and gynecological disorders.
