Description and use: Obtained by steam distillation of bay leaves. It is pale green to orange-brown in color and has a deep, sweet, spicy, fresh scent, somewhat reminiscent of cloves. It is very popular in the production of men's perfumes and cosmetics, especially because it can help with the care of irritated skin after shaving and impurities on the skin. It can also be added to massage oils or baths for a relaxing effect. It is also added to shampoos and other hair care products intended to combat hair loss. Due to its astringent effect, it is also welcome in cosmetic products for skin toning.

Oils with which it can be mixed: eucalyptus, lavender, geranium, rosemary, thyme, cedar, coriander, ginger, juniper berries, lemon, orange, rose and ylang ylang.
